<image:caption>Every year, W+K Shanghai's design team develops a self-initiated project that explores ideas beyond client work. In 2022, we turned our attention to China's growing dependence on waimai (food delivery), where convenience often comes at the cost of excessive single-use plastic waste.

To encourage more sustainable daily habits, we created Cook More, Waimai Less—a lunch kit designed to inspire clients and employees to prepare meals at home instead of ordering takeout. The kit includes an apron, tea towel, gloves, a Tyvek lunch bag, a lunch box, reusable wheat straw utensils, and other everyday essentials, transforming home cooking into a more enjoyable ritual. </image:caption>

Rather than simply promoting sustainability, the project demonstrates how thoughtful design can encourage small behavioral changes through everyday objects.

The project received an ADC Merit at the 102nd ADC Annual Awards in the Brand / Communication Design.</image:caption>

W+K Shanghai was commissioned to refresh the program's identity with a younger, more contemporary visual language that would resonate with a new generation of members while strengthening its appeal to existing loyal customers.

The identity is built around a simple yet memorable idea: "the more you eat, the more you earn." To express this concept, we introduced a playful bite mark into the MyGold logo, transforming an everyday eating gesture into the brand's defining visual asset. More than a graphic detail, the bite becomes a recognizable symbol of participation, reward, and the irresistible craving associated with McDonald's.</image:caption>

The project translated Nike's global creative direction into a scalable system that could preserve the bold character of the original design while addressing the unique constraints of Chinese typography.

The global campaign features a highly condensed, extended type treatment paired with dynamic athlete photography and POV lines to create a strong sense of movement and energy. While Latin typefaces can be stretched and compressed with relative flexibility, Chinese characters require a more considered approach to maintain legibility and visual balance.

We created a chaotic world of cake monsters: drunk cakes, smoking cakes, dancing cakes, and all kinds of ridiculous characters, to capture the energy of an unforgettable night. Inspired by the messy, hilarious moments that only happen at great parties, the visuals
were designed to make people feel the excitement before they
even arrived.

Centered around the theme of "a poetic dialogue between light and space," the exhibition identity was designed to capture the emotional and spatial qualities of light beyond its functional purpose.

Rather than directly depicting the luminaires, the visual language abstracts their distinctive silhouettes, colors, and sculptural characteristics into a dynamic system of geometric forms and linear compositions. These elements shift, intersect, and expand across different applications, echoing the movement of light through architectural space while creating a flexible identity for the exhibition.</image:caption>

By combining found materials, handwritten notes, paper textures, and unexpected imagery, I use analog techniques to create narratives that feel intuitive, humorous, and emotionally expressive.

One project is an experimental IT Book, entirely handmade using cardboard, handwritten notes, collage, and hand-binding. Created years ago, it reimagines the conventional IT manual by replacing rigid instructions with a tactile, playful reading experience. The rough materials, visible construction, and handmade imperfections bring warmth and personality to a subject that is often perceived as technical and impersonal.</image:caption>

<image:caption>These works explore collage as a way of thinking and storytelling.

<image:caption>The second project is a series of visual explorations imagining the emotional world of athletes through collage. Rather than documenting physical movement, the compositions visualize thoughts and feelings behind each moment—a desperate save becomes as urgent as rescuing a cat, a high jump reaches toward the moon, and crossing the finish line unfolds into a blooming field of flowers. Humor and imagination transform familiar sporting moments into poetic visual stories.

Although collage is no longer a dominant visual language in contemporary design, I'm continually drawn to its rawness, warmth, and imperfections. Its layered nature creates unexpected relationships between images, bringing humor, emotion, and a quiet sense of rebellion that still feels refreshingly human today.
<image:caption>As one of the founders, I lead the brand's creative direction, visual identity, and product imagery, shaping a visual language that feels understated, effortless, and quietly expressive. Rather than placing products in carefully styled interiors or idealized living spaces, the photography embraces ordinary environments—everyday corners, layered backgrounds, and naturally imperfect settings. This intentionally relaxed aesthetic allows the objects to feel approachable and adaptable, demonstrating how they can naturally integrate into different homes and lifestyles without relying on a perfectly curated environment.

The supporting graphic language follows the same philosophy. Elements such as tape, price stickers, handwritten notes, and utilitarian materials are incorporated as subtle visual cues, creating a sense of spontaneity and informality. Together, these details establish a brand identity that feels honest, playful, and lived-in, while allowing the products to remain the focal point.

This philosophy also extends to the packaging. We keep it intentionally simple, using recyclable cartons and minimal graphics to reduce unnecessary materials and allow the objects themselves to remain the focus.
<image:caption>Beautiful Scenery is a series of screen-printed artworks celebrating the beauty and individuality of women. Inspired by abstract forms found in nature, each composition reflects a unique feminine presence—as radiant and singular as the moon, flowing rivers, or blooming flowers. The tactile quality of screen printing adds depth and texture, reinforcing the poetic character of the work.

Inspired by the concept of the male gaze, the project explores the relationship between beauty, observation, and the female image. The title Beautiful Scenery refers to something we naturally admire and observe. By combining classic feminine portraits with natural landscapes, the series blurs the boundary between women and scenery, inviting viewers to reconsider the act of looking and what
we perceive as beauty.
